Dear Leader Bubble Community,
This recent election was a powerful, teachable moment about leadership. Leadership is hard. It requires vision, courage, and service—not just to a select few but to everyone. In leadership, much like in education, we don’t get to pick and choose who deserves our support. It’s our duty to serve all, even those who disagree with us.
The election underscored how divided we remain in our understanding of leadership—what it looks like, sounds like, and feels like. But there are fundamental values every true leader should hold: genuine care for others, respect for the dignity of all people, and a recognition that everyone deserves to be seen, heard, and valued. In our country and in our educational system, our work is far from finished. What we need now is a brand of leadership that’s positive, courageous, and rooted in service.
The edge of leadership can feel jagged because our ideas about it have not yet caught up with the reality that anyone can lead, and that many have the courage to step forward and do so. Leadership is not about ego or control; it’s about service.
To our community of educators, leaders, and especially our children watching us, the message is clear: we have to do better. We have to be better. And we will, because you matter most.
In this spirit, I’d love for you to join me in our Thought Bubble Exchange on Sunday, November 10th at 7:00 PM EST to explore what this next chapter of leadership means for our educational community. The Thought Bubble Exchange is a curated space for loving dialogue about the work ahead and how we stay grounded, focused, and compassionate within it. To attend, please RSVP and become part of the Thought Bubble community. I can’t wait to continue this journey with you.
With gratitude,
Kendra
